Dhamdhama Senior Secondary School

An Overview.
Formerly known as Dhamdhama Junior College, Dhamdhama Senior Secondary School stands as a beacon of academic pride, serving approximately 35 villages in the greater Dhamdhama region of Nalbari district. Established through the collective financial contributions and tireless efforts of the local populace, the institution has evolved into the distinguished center of learning it is today.
The foundation of this institution was spearheaded by late MLA of the erstwhile Barama constituency, Surendra Nath Das, and Baikuntha Nath. We fondly remember the immense sacrifices of visionary figures like the late Gandhian leader Dwarika Barua, Amulya Barman, and Harikanta Sarma, the first president of the preparatory committee. Continuing this legacy, the current SMDC President, Shri Arun Das, continues to guide the institution with dedication.
Economically backward but culturally vibrant, the region is a tapestry of diverse ethnic communities. The school serves as a vital educational hub for students from as far as 25-26 kilometers away, including those from the foothills of the neighboring country, Bhutan. Currently, 612 students—predominantly from Nepali, Bodo, and Adivasi communities—are enrolled in classes XI and XII. Every year, numerous students graduate with flying colors and serve the state and the nation in various capacities.
​The rich cultural diversity of the region significantly shapes our students' holistic development. Furthermore, our students have brought laurels to the institution through their outstanding performance in sports. Although geographically located within the Nalbari constituency, the school serves as a uniquely reliable educational institution for students from both Nalbari and the current Baksa districts. We aspire for this institution to attain recognition as a premier educational center of national standard in the years to come."
