P.B.DHIRDUTTA H.S.SCHOOL

PB DHIRDUTTA HS SCHOOL was established in 1911.It was established by a prominent merchant and a social worker DHIRDUTTA Buzabarua along with other social workers. During freedom movement the School was caught fire by some unsocial persons.In.At the very beginning the school was an ME school and in 1937 it was upgraded to a high school.In 1979 it was again upgraded to Higher secondary school.The school celebrated Hirak Jayanti in 1987 and centenary celebration in 1912.The school is one of the oldest institution in Nalbari district.The accademic result is very good.In 1984 Manoj Kumar Sarma secured 6th position in HSLC examination of that year.In 1986 Kaushik kumar Deka scored highest mark in Assamese in HSLC examination.The school has Arts, Science & Commerce stream in HS section but unfortunately the Commerce stream has not got provincialisef yet.A large number of good citizen like doctors, engineers , professors ,officers,farmers, businessmen have been created by the school.Shaniram Bora was the first head master of the school.Mrinalini Devi ,the mother of current Chief minister was the first female matriculate from our school. Dhirdutta Buzabarua,Krishna Dutta Buzabarua,Ram Dutta Buzabarua,Krishna Kanta Bhattacharya, Ramesh Choudhary, Arun Ch Sarma were the well wishers of the school. Ofcourse a large number of social workers contributed a lot for the school.
